Evenwood Road Runners keep on running, and its back to Yorkshire for the third black sheep race series at Kirkby Malzeard for a 10k and 2 mile fun run on Saturday 4th June.

First home for Evenwood junior road runners and determined to be first was Demi Douthwaite in 14:43 for 14 pos., followed in by a trio of club members Helen Pounder 14:53 in 17 pos. Sarah Douthwaite 15:02 in 18 pos and Ruth Bracegirdle in 15:04 for 19 pos. Rebecca Johnston returned home in 15:38 for 23 position hot on her heels was Kate Pounder in 15:59 in 26 pos. Matthew Heir keeps Harry Welsh at bay and they finish in 16:08 and 16:18 for 29 and 30 pos. Amy Bracegirdle is next to return and still running strong she finished in  17:08 for 41 pos. New member to the club Joseph Williamson had an excellent run and finished in 18:31 in 58 pos. William Coatsworth returning back from injury and producing some excellent times finished in a time of  18:47 in 59 pos. Lucy Gibson determined to get the better of her sister Emma for 18:50 and 60 pos and 19:20 for 68 pos. 24 seconds later was Amy Coatsworth in 19:44 in 77pos. its a race to the finish line for Emily Coatsworth and Glynn frith but Emily out sprinted Glynn by one second for 19:49 and 19:50 for 72 and 73 position from 119 runners.

In the undulating 10k course Neil Douthwaite brought the club home in 41:22 for 39 pos ,followed in by Ron Pounder in 43:59 for 63 pos, not to be surpassed was Donna Douthwaite with a new pb time of  46:49 for 99 pos, and returning home in a time of 49:03 for 131 pos out of a field of 233 runners was Phil Baxter..

Evenwood Road Runners return back to Yorkshire for the second day on the 5th June for the Thirsk 10 mile road race and mini marathon.

Sophie Huges was first home for the club and also first girl overall for a time of 18:38 for 29 pos ,Demi Douthwaite still producing excellent times for 19:50 for 47 pos ,Sarah Douthwaite in 20:11 for 54 pos , Glynn and Harry welsh cross the line together for 21:43 for 82nd pos and 21:43 for 83 rd pos, Matthew Hehir out sprints Donna to the finish post for 23:45 for  120 and 121st pos out of a field of 302 runners

In damp conditions in the 10 mile road race Neil Douthwaite completed the course in 68 mins

Eight members from evenwood road runners took part in the 25th Blaydon race on the 9th of June

Neil Douthwaite was first home for the club in 38:16 for 238 pos , hot on his heels was Ron Pounder for 38:58 in 271 pos Darren Fairclough returning back from injury has a steady jog round and finished in 40:12 for 357 pos. Donna Douthwaite pleased with her time crossed the line in 43:29 for 670 pos ,Darren Million was not going to be out sprinted to the finish line for 44:49 sharply followed in by Phil Baxter 18 seconds later for 45:07 for 856 pos ,Glynn Frith breaks away from fun runs to run with the senior members and produces an excellent time of 45:59 for 966 pos , John Tully the clubs recent member enjoyed his run around for 51:57 in 1827 position from a large field of 3482 runners, Neil and Donna Douthwaite were the 10th couple in (me and our lass).
