Evenwood Junior Road Runners
produced excellent times at Raby Castle on Sunday
29th May,
First home in the 5k fun
run around the castle grounds was Sarah Douthwaite
in 27:15 for 32nd position, hot on her heels was
sister, Demi Douthwaite in 28:21 for 38th position,
two places later Helen Pounder 28:58 for 40th
position, Harry Welsh 29:01 for 41st position and
Matthew Hehir 29:12 for 42nd position, Kate Pounder
finished the race strongly in 30:48 for 59th
position ,Ruth Bracegirdle 32:38 for 76 position
sister Amy Bracegirdle had a strong run for 32:41
for 77th position .Lucy Gibson finished in 34:57 for
96th position, Emma Gibson and Glynn Frith crossed
the line together in 36:01 for 105th position and
106th position, its a battle to the finish line for
the Coatsworth family with Amy crossing first in
36:57 for 112 pos then William in 36:58 for 113 th
pos Emily crossed the line in 37:31 for 122nd
position from a field of 154 runners (well done to
you all),
Then its the 10k for the senior
section to complete two laps around the castle
grounds, first home for the club was Gary Atkinson
in 37:18 for 13th position, Sean Glasper was next
back in 44:52 for 115 position, Dawn Ord and Alan
Dickinson ran the course together but dawn got the
better of Alan by 2 seconds for 1:12:17 and 1:12:19
for 405 position and 406 position.
It was back to Yorkshire for the second time for
black sheep race series at Melmerby, 10k for four
members on the 29th May
First home for the club was Neil
Douthwaite in 40:16 for 42nd position and taking 6th
place in the series for senior men with 25 points,
gaining an new PB at this distance was Ron Pounder
in 40:46 for 48th position taking 5th in 0/45 for 33
points. Phil Baxter 46:41 for 130th position, Donna
Douthwaite 49:01 for 174 position out of 273 runners
and who is 3rd in the senior ladies with 37 points.
The next race is Saturday the 4th June at Kirkby
Malzeard,

Shields to Sunderland in the 7.5 mile Pier to Pier run on
Sunday 22nd May,
Neil Douthwaite brings the club home in
47:46 for 68th position, Ron Pounder fifteen seconds
later for 47:55, 73rd position, Kimberley Crowther
52:54, 183 position and Donna Douthwaite 54:45, 226 position Darren Million makes this his first race and
finishes in 55:09, 239 position, Phil Baxter 56 :31,
270 position and Kenny Sams 58:54, 355 position from a field of 627
runners,,,
