Maltby 7 Mile
On
the 19th November Evenwood Road Runner had
an impressive turn-out at the Maltby 7 mile
road race. First home for the green and
white quarters was Gary Atkinson in a time
of 42:17 taking 10th position followed by
Neil Douthwaite in 48:13 for 42nd place.
Donna Douthwaite returned home in 54:57 for
106 position and first lady 0/35.
It was a battle up the last hill on who
would take fourth place for the club out
of three fellow club mates. Helen Iceton
managed to break away from the group and
finished in 1:00:26 for 158th position.
Glynn Frith outsprinted John Tully to the
finishing line in 1:00:49 and 1:00:54 for a
position of 162 and 163. Dawn Ord and Nicola
Finch completed the course in 1:07:34 and
1:07:37 for 196 and 197 position and last
but not least was Alan Dickinson in 1:15:10
for 206th position from a field of 210
runners. |
Andy and Tony Struggled through the Mini
Great North Run
Two grandads from the club had an
enjoyable day out with their grandchildren
helping them raise money for charity at the
Mini Great North Run. Amiee Townsend ran
with Andrew Laybourn and raised £122 pounds
for TOMMY'S the baby charity. Joshua and
Jonathan Kay ran along side Tony Hindmarch
helping them raise £416 pounds for the FIRST
STEPS TODDLER GROUP at the Cornerstone
Christian Centre. They would like to say a
big THANKYOU to everybody who sponsored
them, well done |

Richmond 10 K
Evenwood Road Runners
travelled to Richmond on the 15th October for the
Hilly Richmond 10k. It is a undulating and
challenging course and was run under perfect
conditions. It was a battle from start to finish for
fellow team mates Neil Douthwaite and Darren
Fairclough but Neil just out sprinted Darren to the
finish for 44:16 in 91st position and 44:31 ,95
placing. Donna Douthwaite was next to return home in
53:56 for 284th. Glynn Frith finished in
56:45,325th, Helen Iceton is showing great progress
and will be pushing for higher placings soon, as she
recorded 1:01:05, 377th, Dawn Ord had a good run
finishing in 1:03:07 392nd. Nicola Finch took the
race in her stride despite the hills and completed
the challenging course in an excellent time of
1:03:34th 396th . Kenneth Sams once again crossed
the line in 1:03:42.397th. Alan Dickinson brought
home the rear in a creditable time of 1:09:29 for
421st position out of a field of 428.
The club meet every Sunday at 10:25am at the
travellers rest in Evenwood all new members welcome. |
