On the 7th October, 3 members from Evenwood Road Runners and there families travelled to Scotland to take part in the 6th Lochness marathon. First to return home over the 26.2 mile course was Neil Douthwaite in 3 hrs 32 mins and 20 sec for 287 place. Donna Douthwaite was next to return in 4 hrs 12 mins and 12 sec for 817 position. Glyn Frith 4 hrs 52 mins 17sec for 1220 place out of a field of 1445 runners. In the River Ness 5k run Sarah Douthwaite completed the course in 25 mins and Demi Douthwaite in 26 mins.
On the 14th October the Evenwood road runners took part in the hilly Richmond 10k despite the name change the course was no easier. First to return home for the club was Robert Mcaloon in a time of 40:23 for 32nd pos next to follow was Darren Fairclough in 44:17 for 73rd position .Neil Douthwaite 44:25 for 76 pos. Despite taking a fall Donna Douthwaite completed the course in 53:36 for 263rd pos. Glyn Frith was next to return in 1:00:14 for 350th pos .Newest member to the club Gemma Dart starting to show good signs of progress in her running completed the challenging course in 1:03:19 for 389 pos.

On the 29th and 30th of September a member from Evenwood Road Runners and his two grandsons had a busy weekend at the junior great north run and also the great north run .A total of £665 was raised by Tony Hindmarch and his two grandsons Joshua and Jonathan Kay who completed the mini great north run. Tony Hindmarch covered the 13.1 mile course in 1hr 35 mins. The money raised is going to Evenwood c.e primary school and the cornerstone Christian centre (first steps) parent and toddler group in Evenwood, we would like to thank all those who have supported the fundraising
