York Brass Monkey

On the 20th January five members from Evenwood road runners took part in the 25th York Brass Monkey half marathon. First home for the club was Neil Douthwaite in 1:30:15 for 183rd position, next to follow was Donna Douthwaite in 1:47:42 for 544th pos, newest member to the club Angela wade produced a excellent time, and also gained a new personal best at this distance for 1:49:08 in 574th pos. Guest runner to the club was Paul tucker who also had a good run for 1:49:49 in 580th position. Club stalwart Glynn Frith was to be outwitted on the finish line by fellow team mate john Tully who played the field to his hand to recorded a time of 2:08:01 for 876th pos, and Glynn in a time of  2:08:07 for 877th pos ,out of a field of 1015 runners.

Black Hill and Beck Trail Race

On the 27th January two female members from Evenwood Road Runners took up a new challenge to take part in the black hill and beck trail race, a 12 km challenging race over multi track and terrain which saw Sarah Douthwaite and Gemma Dart battle it out for first home for the club, Sarah completed the course in 1:40:38 and Gemma in 1:41:05 ,well done to both of them
