Snake Lane

On the 24th February, 10 members from Evenwood Road Runners completed the Pocklington Snake Lane 10 mile road race. Gary Atkinson was first to return home for the club in 59 mins, 46 seconds taking 28th position, Robert Mcaloon 1:03:15 in 68th pos, Neil Douthwaite 1:06:37 in 126th pos, Darren Fairclough 1:07:59 in 156 pos, Kim Crowther 1:09:50 in 187 pos, Donna Douthwaite in 1:18:03 for 335 postion,glynn frith 1:25:37 in 469th pos, Gemma Dart 1:36:49 in 580 pos, Nicola Finch in 1:42:10 for 607th pos. Sarah dart in 1:53:01 for 632nd pos.

Hawswater

On the following Sunday six members travelled to the Haweswater half marathon to take part in the out and back course, where three members used it as part of there marathon training. First to return for the home for the club Robert Mcaloon in 1:27:28 for 49th position, kim Crowther 1:33:00 in 86th pos. Neil Douthwaite enjoyed his steady run to complete the course in a time 1:35:03 for 99th position, next to follow was Donna Douthwaite in a time of 1:47:41 in 229th position, Glynn Frith has proved that his training is starting to pay off and was happy to return home in a time of 1:59:30 for 338 pos,  John Tully was next to return home in a time of 2:05:27 in 361st position out of a field of 491 runners.
Dentdale

There was no time to hang up there trainers as three members were off again to take part in the fourteen and a half miles around the lanes of Dentdale in the Yorkshire dales, despite the course change it did not make the road race any easier for the three members who had to battle against the wind and rain and  part of the course being ankle deep in freezing  water.  Neil being a glutton for punishment ran the course with his wife Donna Douthwaite but left him standing over the last 100 yrds to cross the finishing line in 2:00:38 and Neil in 2:00:42 for 217th and 218th position. Glynn Frith completed his 3rd race with colour in his cheeks for a time of  2:19:47 in 392nd pos out of a field of 467 finishers.
