Coniston 14

On the 28th march three members from Evenwood Road Runners took part in the Coniston 14 mile road race despite losing his race chip Gary Atkinson completed the course in a new personal best  time of 1 hr and 28 mins and 08 sec for 28th pos next to return home was John Tully in 2:15:49 for 1097th pos ,running solo around  the tough and challenging course was Nicola Finch in 2:33:00 for 1376 pos.

North Tyneside 10k

On Sunday the 12th April eight members from Evenwood Road Runners  travelled to North Tyneside to take part in a 10k road race which finished at St.Marys lighthouse ,first to return home in 32nd place was Gary Atkinson in 36:37 mins , using this race as part of his London marathon training was Neil Douthwaite who had a good run in a time of 43:56 for 252nd position, Tony Hindmarch had a good run in a time of 45:15 for 320th pos.  The next two members are also destined for London marathon is Donna Douthwaite who despite her injury was pleased with her time of 47:39 for 471st pos, and Glyn Frith 51:56 for 782 pos , however the gentleman on the day was Andrew laybourn as he ran the course with the clubs  youngest member Sarah Douthwaite to record times off 53:49 for 922nd pos and Andrew in 53:52 for 923rd pos, just missing out on the sub hour mark was Nicola Finch who completed the course in 1:00:23 for 1334 pos out of a field of 1686 runners.

Redcar Half Marathon

on Sunday the 19th April nine members from Evenwood Road Runners completed the 27th Redcar half marathon ,first to return home for the club was Robert McCloon in 1:27:50 for 114th position. Kimberly Crowther in 1:37:52 for 311. Newest member to the club Adam Gibbon 1:38:18 for 341, David Wilson 1:49:48 in 658 pos, it was to be a gentle jog out for Neil Douthwaite and Darren Fairclough who completed to course in a joint time of 1:51:20 for 714 pos and 715 pos, Sarah Douthwaite new to this distance and the youngest member in the club completed her first half marathon in a great time of 1:56:35 for 873 position, Alan Morton in 1:57:06: for 873rd pos, John Tully 2:08:51 for 1109 out of a field of 1391 runners.
