Grand Prix Rules and the Qualifying Races

Over the course of a year from January to December every member has the opportunity to aim and win the grand prix cup.  It is based on encouraging members to improve their own performance and to attract new members.

Each member is given a handicap which is calculated  as the average minutes per mile based on their performance for the previous year. This time is then calculated into 10K, 10 Mile and half marathon times. If that member then beats the predicted time. One point is awarded per minute time difference between actual and predicted time and two points for completing a grand prix race.

There are 12 grand prix races throughout the year 4 half marathons, 4  x 10 Miles and 4 x 10k. The winner is the athlete with the most points regardless of how many races in one season.

The current races are listed below in a table. Click the link for the current season to check out current handicaps.
